EId-Al-Fitr 1444 Announcement

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُه

Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh.

Depending on the sighting of the new Shawwaal Moon here in the UK, Eid-ul-Fitr will be confirmed for either Friday 21st April, or Saturday 22nd April insha’Allah.

South Lakes Islamic Centre will announce the commencement of the Eid-ul-Fitr / 1st of Shawwaal after Maghrib on Thursday 20/04/2023.

This will be in accordance with the UK moonsighting method adopted by Wifaaqul Ulama.

Abu Huraira (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ) reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

Observe fast on sighting it (the new moon) and break (fast) on sighting it (the new moon), but if the sky is cloudy for you, then complete the number (of thirty).

May Allah سبحانه و تعالى accept all of our fasts, Qur’an recitation, taraweeh prayers, charity and all the worship carried out during the blessed month of Ramadhan – Ameen
